OUGD601 - Finals

These are my final practical pieces.

The pale pink, blue and green worksheets & certificates are designed for children with autism with the yellow sheets designed for children with dyslexia.

OUGD601 - Colour & Type used

From the research from my dissertation I decided on the type and colours I will be using within my practical pieces.

Type -

I decided to use the font Quicksand for the practical pieces for autistic children.

I decided to use this font as I felt it was easy to read as well as being one of the only fonts that uses the a the way children learn to write in primary school. Also as I wanted to practical pieces to look fresh and new I steered away from using comic sans as I felt there were other fonts that worked the same.

For dyslexic children I decided to find a font that was specifically made for dyslexia. Again this font features an a the way children are learnt to write in primary school.

This type is called Lexia Readable.

Colour

For autistic children, as mentioned before it is best to use pastel colours and the hues and shades of these colours. I decided on using these particular colours.

I felt these colours were still engaging to young children and wouldn't allow for a sensory overload.

For dyslexic students I decided to use a cream/yellow pale colour with a light grey for the text.

These colours work well for dyslexic students as they are easy on the eye and it isn't difficult for them to read.
