OUGD601 - Plan & Structure

Intro - Introduce question and talk about briefly the chapters within the dissertation. Books that have been read aswell as briefly touching on primary research.

Chapter 1 - General overview of teaching resources 
  • Asthetics of resources 
  • Who designs the resources used?  
Look into theories & ideas of how students learn - focus on graphic design
  • What ways do primary school students learn? 
  • Developing knowledge
  • Exploring the world 
  • Colour, playing , learning by doing
Chapter 2 - Visual Resources - Type & Imagery
  • Find out where they come from - do they come from teachers or a business/company
  • Are certain guidelines used? 
  • Seems to be a set asthetic, imagery and type - why? 
Chapter 3 - Improving these resources 
  • Primary Research - Mock up
  • Potential to improve? How?
Chapter 4 - Conclusion 

 

OUGD601 - Question

Before the tutorial I was quite stuck on how to word my question so it wasn't too vague and so that it actually made sense! With the help of Simon in my first tutorial I finally had a dissertation question which makes researching easier. 

Question - How can graphic design improve learning in Primary School Education? 

With this question in mind I can now make a start on any primary/secondary research needed and then make a start on my actual dissertation.
